Planimetria "Tassido Coda Resort"
Abruzzo...
history, art,
nature, food & wine in the heart of
Italy!
The Abruzzo region is part of central Italy and situated
between the Apennines in the west and the Adriatic Sea in the east. Comprising the four
provinces of l’Aquila, Chieti, Teramo and Pescara. Abruzzo is one of the most thinly populated,
unspoilt regions of the Italian peninsula.
With a diverse landscape , including the majestic peaks of
the Gran Sasso group, the region has a beautiful coastline, with sandy beaches in the north and
rocks and cliffs towards the south.
The geographical diversity is reflected in its cuisine.
Abruzzo chefs have long been considered Italy’s best. In the XVI century, Prince
Caracciolo inaugurated a school for cooks at Villa St. Maria.
Even today, these top flight chefs are
sent all over the world, and every year in October, the Festival of the Cooks takes place in the
village.
The region is famous for its wealth of castles and
medieval towns, as well as its numerous national parks (Parco Nazionale della Majella, Parco
Nazionale Sirente Velino, Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso and Parco Nazionale d’ Abruzzo).
Extending
to over a third of the region’s territory, the parks are rich in woods, waterfalls, flora
and fauna.
The 'Grotte di Stiffe' are one of Italy's most famous
caves, only 21 km from L'Aquila and definitely worth a visit -

“Montepulciano”, one of the most famous and popular
Italian wines, is produced in Abruzzo.
A visit to the “Zaccagnini” vineyard and winery (only 45
minutes from Scanno) is highly recommended:

Abruzzo is a year-round region offering sun, sea and
beaches in the summer and skiing in the winter.
